The Irish Grey Partridge Conservation Trust is delighted to announce that a Black Kite, an extremely scarce visitor to Ireland, has shown up on National Parks & Wildlife Service lands that are managed for the conservation of grey partridge.<\/p>\n
Only a few confirmed sightings of the species have been documented in Ireland.<\/p>\n
The bird is also a scarce visitor to the UK, with only 7 records per year.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s primarily an opportunist scavenger but also feeds on small prey; let\u2019s hope it won\u2019t be a grey partridge!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
