Counts conducted during March suggest that the number of spring pairs in the core study area in Boora is in the region of 95-100 pairs.<\/p>\n
This figure when combined with the number of pairs taken into the captive breeding program gives an estimated spring pair count of 130+ pairs. We have also received numerous reports of sightings of birds on farmland outside the core study area.<\/p>\n
All these reports are greatly recieved as they allow us to put a picture together of where the birds are dispersing too.<\/p>\n
This allows us to try and devise management strategies to cope with the expansion of the range.<\/p>\n
