Rare Visitor shows up in Boora

The Irish Grey Partridge Conservation Trust is delighted to announce that a Black Kite, an extremely scarce visitor to Ireland, has shown up on National Parks & Wildlife Service lands that are managed for the conservation of grey partridge.

Only a few confirmed sightings of the species have been documented in Ireland.

The bird is also a scarce visitor to the UK, with only 7 records per year.

It’s primarily an opportunist scavenger but also feeds on small prey; let’s hope it won’t be a grey partridge!
