Spring Pair count reaches record high in 2011

Counts conducted during March suggest that the number of spring pairs in the core study area in Boora is in the region of 95-100 pairs.

This figure when combined with the number of pairs taken into the captive breeding program gives an estimated spring pair count of 130+ pairs. We have also received numerous reports of sightings of birds on farmland outside the core study area.

All these reports are greatly recieved as they allow us to put a picture together of where the birds are dispersing too.

This allows us to try and devise management strategies to cope with the expansion of the range.

All sightings can be reported via e-mail to info@irishgreypartridge.com or to (087)2721981.
